2001-2010: A Decade of Memories: Part One

Usagichan.com's entire list of convention reports and miscellaneous extras have now been moved to a faster server. Feel free to go through the extensive history of LionBoogy's travels throughout this entire decade and even before in the 1990's here: http://www.usagichan2.com

Usagichan.com's list of convention dates and cosplayer websites have also been updated for 2010. With over 20 years of attending conventions around the world, Usagichan.com remains by far the oldest and largest of all anime/sci-fi convention report websites that uses no sponsors or outside funding to serve the worldwide community. It also funds other cosplay-related websites and occasionally provides content to fellow members of the Press and outside web and print publications. Enjoy!

I don't know about you, but I'm all for Global Warming right about now. Lots and lots of it. Because, man, it is fucking cold.

An Epic Day

Weird dreams last night, first of all.

Today I got to work. Something was nagging at the back of my mind. Realized around 9:30 that it was December 3rd. I had arranged a meeting with Pat Butcher over at the Business Center to discuss whether or not I get a Network+ Certification Exam voucher. I had to leave work at 1:00 for that. Unfortunately, I took half the day off, Tuesday, to go get my car in Utica. So I had to reschedule or something.

To remedy the situation, I pulled up my e-mail to contact Butcher. I checked the last message I received from her, just to make sure I had the details right. It kinda hit me like a Hostess truck. I was under the impression I was just meeting with Butcher today. However, I had in fact received the voucher, and was supposed to take the actual exam today. So I had to- somehow- disappear from work at 12:30, take a two hour, 100 question certification exam, and return to work without anyone catching on. Anyway, here's the (fictional) timetable I presented to my boss.

12:15PM = I had to take the snow plow back to base and find Sandy Belsky for the company credit card.
12:30PM = I was taking the truck to the gas station to refuel.
1:00PM = Going to the locksmith to replicate the keys to both my snowplow and Sandy's.
2:00PM = Taking my lunch break.
3:00PM = Returning to base to deliver the afternoon run.
3:30PM = Returning to the Warehouse.

So I actually got the credit card and refueled the truck before 11:30AM. My lunch break was trivial, and the key replication was bullshit. I made it to the Business Park at 12:45- right on time. I was taking the exam with a colleague of mine named Keith, and a gentleman from Rochester who resembled Wayne Newton.

Long story short, I failed miserably. I guess you have to study to win the Net+ exam.
My Score: 540
Passing: 720

Returned to the Warehouse an hour early, since I finished the exam so quickly. I was really conscious of its mammoth impassibility, so I didn't bother to ponder the real stumpers very long. My supervisors are none the wiser. Ironically, Sandy approached me at the end of the day and asked if I could replicate our truck keys. I didn't know what to tell my boss.
